Mi zia sostiene di aver incontrato il maestro Yoda in chiesa….sicuri fosse incenso?!

Affascinato dalle “derealtà”, realtà altre nelle quali la realtà si muove in strutture spazio temporali indipendenti e che talvolta possono diventare fondanti del sistema culturale come nel caso delle religioni, Adrian Tranquilli (Melbourne 1966) lavora da anni con il fumetto, con personaggi tratti dal mondo del cinema e della mitologia cristiana, buddista e arcaica. Questi universi sono concepiti come una realtà alternative con una propria struttura spazio temporale interna, e attraverso i quali l’artista rompere il muro dell’ovvio estrapolando i simboli  fuori dal proprio contesto e collocandoli altrove rispetto al proprio luogo di origine, così da sottrarre il simbolo da un’ovvia interpretazione, e permettendo la lettura del suo significato più profondo e reale.

Fascinated by derealisation, other realities where reality moves through independent space-time structures and which sometimes might be founding of certain cultural systems such as religion, Adrian Tranquilli (Melbourne 1966) has always been working with comics and with characters coming from the realm of cinema and Christian, Buddhist and archaic mythology. These worlds are considered as alternative realities with a specific internal space-time structure and through which the artist is able to break the wall of the obvious, extrapolating symbols from their context and placing them somewhere different from their original sphere, distancing the symbol from an obvious interpretation and allowing the reading of a more profound and true meaning.
